Watch Care

Mechanical watches, like any mechanisms, require regular checking, cleaning, lubrication and adjustment of the accuracy of the stroke. It is advisable to do this every three to four years at an authorized service center specified in the list attached to the watch passport. This is an important condition, since when opening the case, even the smallest speck of dust that gets into the mechanism can disrupt the accuracy of the clock due to increased friction. Wind up the watch only by removing it from your hand. This eliminates uneven pressure on the crown, which is one of the most vulnerable watch components. A hand-wound watch should be wound at the same time by rotating the crown clockwise until it stops. A watch with automatic winding, if you wear it every day, should be wound up once a week (20-30 rotations of the crown clockwise). In mechanical watches, it is not recommended to engage in extreme sports, work with a jackhammer, etc. The recoil force that the watch takes on affects its durability and accuracy. No matter how perfect the shockproof mechanism is, there is always the possibility of an excessive load that the parts of the mechanism may not withstand.

In order not to spoil the calendar mechanism, you should not change the date between 22 and 02 o'clock in the morning. At this time, all the gears start moving to automatically translate the date. Preferably, the date should be changed by first moving the hour hand to the lower sector of the dial (for example, to the position <6 o'clock>).

Storing

It is advisable to store the watch separately from jewelry, especially with precious stones, and in places where they will be subject to minimal friction against anything. The best option may be the box in which the watch was sold.

Replace the broken or cracked glass immediately, as a crack even as thick as a hair will allow dust particles to get into the mechanism, which will affect the accuracy of the clock. It is not recommended to store the watch in cold rooms. In the cold, lubricating oils thicken, the mechanism stops, the axles of the axles may be damaged. Do not leave the clock on stone tables, for example, made of marble, as strong temperature changes to which marble is subject can cause damage to some parts, especially the springs and spirals of old watches that were made of stainless steel. It is recommended to remove the watch before going to bed. During sleep, you make uncontrolled movements that can damage the watch. In addition, a person sweats in a dream, and sweat, gradually accumulating on your watch, can damage the case and gaskets that ensure the tightness of the watch. If your watch is waterproof, then you can wipe it from time to time with a weak solution of mild soap or cleaning agent, after which the watch must be wiped dry. If your watch has a leather strap, then this procedure should be carried out only with respect to the watch case. If your watch is not waterproof or you are not sure about it, wipe it with a slightly damp cloth, then dry it dry. If you regularly play sports or lead an active physical lifestyle, then you need to pick up a watch on a metal bracelet or a polyurethane belt, instead of a natural leather one. Sweat and perspiration released during sports will gradually destroy the natural skin of the bracelet.
